From October 28 to November 12, our school was honored to welcome a group of remarkable volunteers from Australia, featuring Ruth Cormack, Jillian Carter, Amy Carter, and Kaitlyn Carter. Their time with us was filled with meaningful contributions that touched the hearts of students and staff alike.
Ruth Cormack dedicated her efforts to the library, where she played a crucial role in organizing resources and fostering a love for reading among our students. Her passion for literature inspired young readers to explore new worlds through books, creating a vibrant atmosphere in the library that encouraged exploration and learning.
Jillian Carter, an experienced teacher, worked closely with our Grade 6 students, bringing innovative teaching methods and engaging activities to the classroom. Her ability to connect with the students and enhance their learning experience made a significant difference, helping them to thrive academically and socially.
Amy and Kaitlyn Carter devoted their time to the Kindergarten classes, where their enthusiasm and creativity brought joy to the young learners. Through interactive games and storytelling, the sisters nurtured the children's curiosity and social skills, ensuring that each child felt valued and included in the learning process.
In addition to their classroom contributions, the volunteers shared uplifting stories during chapel, inspiring both students and staff. Their heartfelt messages resonated throughout the school, fostering a sense of community and connection.
Beyond the school walls, the volunteers participated in home visitations with one of our Branch Sabbath School groups. During these visits, they brought joy and warmth to families in the community. Sister Ruth shared her life testimony, spreading hope and love, and leaving a lasting impact on all who were present.
The time that Ruth, Jillian, Amy, and Kaitlyn spent with us was truly invaluable. Their selflessness and dedication to service embody the spirit of community that we cherish at our school. The bonds formed during their stay will never be forgotten, and we are deeply grateful for the blessings they brought into our lives.
As we reflect on their contributions, we extend our heartfelt appreciation to our AUS volunteers. May their lives be filled with blessings and love, and may they continue to inspire hope and kindness wherever they go!
